ATC SCM19A Active Loudspeaker
Why was SCM19A added to the range?
ATC’s entry series was initially created to provide the hi-fi enthusiast a range of high performance passive loudspeakers incorporating all the features found in ATC’s professional products. To extend the range and offer serious step-up in performance, ATC have developed two active models for introduction to the Entry Series. The ATC SCM19A is a two-way version of the SCM40A which quickly became one of ATC’s most popular models.
ATC SCM19A Features
- New ATC designed and built dual suspension 25mm soft dome HF unit with precision alloy wave guide.
- SL spec bass driver with 75mm integral Soft Dome.
- 9kg optimised short-coil/long gap motor assembly.
- On-board grounded source 182 watt Class A/B Bi-amplifier.

No Compromise Design
As with the other active loudspeakers by ATC, the SCM19A shares excellent magnitude response and phase correction, imprived distortion performance along with a greater dynamic range resulting in higher resolution and performance.
The ATC SCM19A is designed and built with a dual suspension 25mm soft dome HF unit with a precision alloy wave guide combined with a ‘SL’ spec bass driver incorporating a 75mm integral Soft Dome.
The speaker also feastures a 9kg optimised short-coil/long gap motor assembly, on-board grounded source 182 watt class A/B Bi-amplifier and active filters as well as overload protection.
About ATC
ATC was formed in 1974 by Billy Woodman to manufacture custom drive units for the professional sound industry, they quickly made their mark with the 12″ PA75-314 driver, a design capable of handling more power and producing less distortion at a higher sound pressure level than any other unit on the market.
1976 saw the first production of the ground-breaking SM 75-150s soft dome midrange driver, a technical tour-de-force, whose innovative up-scaled design reproduced a more uniform dispersion, wider bandwidth and much lower distortion than was thought possible at the time. It revolutionised studio monitoring and has since become recognised as the ultimate mid-range transducer for both domestic and professional applications. Utilising exotic materials and precision tolerances, the latest version of the SM 75-150s represents the apex of drive unit technology. It is often copied but never equalled.
