Cyrus CD Xt Signature CD player
The Cyrus CD Xt Signature is a dedicated ‘Transport’. That means it outputs the pure digital signal, and needs to be connected to an external DAC (which most of Cyrus’s integrated, stream and pre amplifier products contain). By focusing purely on this single task, we are able to dedicate and focus every single internal electrical component to this – resulting in the cleanest, most pristine signal possible.
Cyrus’s CD players are better because they generate far less background noise than most. Cyrus call this their SE or Servo-Evolution technology. The principle itself is quite simple. Usually the laser mechanism (servo) which reads the data from a disc makes tiny movements side to side quite quickly to re-read miss-read data – this create ‘servo noise’ and that impacts the ‘noise-floor’ limiting the quality of the sound output.
The principle objective with all of Cyrus’s CD players is to extract the data on the disc as accurately as possible the first time – and that is only possible through some very careful design and calibration in both the hardware and software elements of the player.
Cyrus has a heritage of over three decades of award-winning products. Since the foundation of the company, we have won plaudits the world over for our incredible engineering expertise and the finesse of our the application to turn these technologies into ‘real-world’ products .
Most hi-fi companies can claim a number of award for products. At Cyrus, however, we have a number of self-imposed constraints – most obviously, the small size of our products.
It is [relatively] easy to design great sounding products without any physical or budgetary restrictions. It is another thing entirely to consistently defy the conventional wisdom, to challenge every precept in audio and to continuously push the envelope of audio technology.
