Rega Fono MM Mk5 Phono Stage

The Rega Fono MM Mk5 is now housed in a brand new redesigned case to match the new Rega Fono MC and Rega’s latest range of electronic components offering a modern and sleek look guaranteed to integrate in to any hi-fi system.

The aesthetic design of the Fono MM was as important as the quality of its electrical capabilities, so it benefits from the same updated aluminium case as the Rega Neo and Fono MC amplifier, giving it a design which offers a familiar feel and moreover brings it in line with its illustrious bigger brothers.

The RIAA equalization has been split into two stages to minimise interaction. Polyester capacitors have been used in the signal path and polypropylene capacitors are used in the RIAA equalization circuits.

About Rega

Rega Research Ltd. is a British audio equipment manufacturer. Rega was founded in 1973. The company’s name was formed of the initials of its two founders (RElph & GAndy). Rega are widely known for their turntables – most notably the iconic Rega Planar 3, cartridges and tonearms, and has produced award-winning amplification and speakers for over 20 years.

In 2014, Rega maintains a custom-built factory and has 90 to 100 employees. It has no marketing department, but produces every model in the UK, and tries to maintain UK-based parts suppliers as well. The only advertisement Rega ever ran was to say that it didn’t advertise, preferring to invest every penny into research and product development. The Rega factory is located in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK- east of London.
